Random Randomness

6.13.2012

- it's June and our heat came on the other day.  That's how damn cold it's been around here lately.  Not cool, people.  Not cool.

- O has decided that she would no longer like to be potty trained and has taken to peeing in her underwear.  And yesterday, right before going to bed for the evening she pooed in her diaper.  It's been ages since she's done that.  And do you know how big a three year old's poo is?  Unfortunately we now do.

- I keep saying to people "I don't know what's wrong with me.  I just feel so tired."  And then I remember "oh yeah, I haven't had a full night's sleep in two and a half months" (actually longer than that since I had some lovely pregnancy-related insomnia going on).  Man, sleep deprivation sucks.  In fact, if I were a chubby two month old baby, this is totally the face that I would make at sleep deprivation.

  1. Oh boy, yep, sometimes times are rough... You can make it though, I know you will, just maybe not today... Keep breathing, and snacking and more importantly SEWING!!! :-)

  2. But look at that gorgeous face! Those lovey cheeks! Makes it all worth it (except maybe not the poo).

  3. It amazes me how much poo can come out of such small people. I swear Clem poos out more than he eats... but at least it's in the toilet. Oh well. Squishy baby in funny hat should help make up for it.

  4. Oh geez this makes me so sad for you, the lost sleep was THE WORST part of having a baby for me. And I am the worst mom EVER because I keep putting the potty training off and now I HAVE to (read HAVE TO) and I'm so not looking forward to the accidents and the pubic restrooms. Ugh. Hang in there, hope you get some sleep SOON!

  5. I didn't get a full nights sleep until I had ONE a few weeks ago. And I have not had one since.
Mine are 4 and 6 years old.
You have cute babies, even if they are still pooping in diapers.
You don't get the luxury of sleep. That's the trade you made.
    ; )

  7. Em just did the poop thing a few weeks ago - it took the reinstatement of "potty prizes" AND threats to have her wear diapers again if she did it ONE MORE TIME. She hasn't. But you're right. It's horribly gross. Good luck with the sleep, hope you can get the husband to trade off some mornings with you on the weekends or something (that's what we do).

  8. Sleep is for the weak. That's my mantra of AT LEAST the first six months of any baby's life. And more, in the case of both of mine. Hope it improves soon. And that you re-enter the world of the potty-trained too!

  10. It's 90 degrees with 100% humidity in our neck of the woods, so I'm totally feeling sad for you on the sleep-deprivation, but a little jealous about the weather.

But I'm mostly jealous of those cute fat baby cheeks! So adorable.

  11. Oh, I so hope tha weather improves, the pooing goes where it should, and you can get some sleep (ok, not so likely, I know....)

  12. Ah, yes, the sleep deprivation. I swear, Joe only started sleeping halfway decently in the last year. Before that, there were two solid years of him waking up pretty much every hour all night long. Of course, the second he starts sleeping better, I'm pregnant again and about to start the whole thing over! I guess this time I at least have the benefit of hindsight - I know it can be survived, and I know it will get better. No child could ever sleep worse than Joe did, and hopefully this one will sleep a little better! But I am kind of worried about not being able to nap this time around!

As far as pottytraining. Yeah. Our three year old is nowhere near ready to pottytrain, so we're pretty familiar with the poop. So I'm getting excited about having TWO children in diapers! WAHOOOOO! I don't have the benefit of hindsight on this one, so thank goodness for several friends who had late pottytrainers to reassure me that I'm not, in fact, a terrible mother, and that Joe will not, in fact, go into adulthood insisting on wearing diapers.
